about AMY

Photographer & Storyteller

Hey there, I’m Amy Crooks.

I love photography. I love the places it takes me and the people I get to meet. It is my “me” time. I always say it beats running on a treadmill - I’d rather hike up a mountain and get epic shots. I am a Family/Maternity/Newborn photographer based in Peoria, Arizona, but I have clients sprinkled throughout the United States. I frequently travel to Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and California each year. I am always down for the next adventure!

My husband and I have been married for 12 years. We met bagging groceries in Garden Grove, CA when we were 18! We now have a very busy family. My husband works in the football industry, which has led us to call so many different states ‘home’ over the years. Our three kids are super involved in activities, so you can usually catch me in my car editing while someone is at football, baseball, or dance practice.

how it started

“My goal is to capture those raw moments in time”

In 2016, a neighbor asked me if I could take her family pictures.  The night she posted them on her Facebook page, I got two more requests for family photos from people I had never met.  I knew I could make this a thing…..and so I did.  The same night,  I stayed up all night building a website, and Amy Crooks Photography was born.

Seven years later, after dabbling in all types of photography, I have learned that documenting the start of a family is what I love the most.  From maternity to newborn to milestones and family pictures, I want to be with you on every step of the journey to capture it all.

My goal is to capture the freckles on your little one’s nose, a toothless smile, the snuggle of a little one who just wants their mommy, and the connection of parents going through the struggle of raising a family through temper tantrums and attitudes. It’s hard, it’s tough but I hope I can capture those moments in time.
